Per Östman

Principal Solutions Architect
and Technology Lead

Letter of recommendation from Adacra

April 4, 2005

To whom it may concern

I'm writing this letter to introduce Per Östman. Per joined Adacra when it was still very small and during his time there he contributed substantially to its growth, to its culture and to its values. He primarily had the role of systems architect as well as technical specialist. Given his long experience with systems development and integration, Per also acted as project manager in a number of projects. Further, he has also served as the head of the technology group during much of Adacra's growth, having organizational responsibility for about 20 consultants. As CEO, member of the management team as well as account executive, I had the opportunity to work closely with Per for a long time.

Adacra was an Internet Professional Services firm, offering high quality consulting services to the financial services industries. Uniquely positioned to combine management and technology capabilities, Adacra rapidly grew, organically and profitably, until it was acquired by Modul 1 in 2003.

Per is one of the smartest people I have worked with. He has an unusual capacity for abstract thinking as well as pure intellectual bandwidth. He constantly uses these capabilities to keep abreast of leading new technologies in his area. Learning on the cutting edge is one of his primary drivers. Thus, he has an extremely good understanding of diverse technical environments, ranging from modern technologies like .NET and J2EE, to a variety of Unix platforms and IBM mainframes. He can also put these theoretical capabilities to use. As an example, Per lead the design of Adacra's highly successful .NET platform and also took a strong role in a similar effort on the J2EE side.

He was (and is) a trusted adviser to many of our most important clients and has apart from client engagements delivered reports on topics like: security and risk, IT management, IT strategy, scalability and performance, and platform assessment.

With his great depth as well as breadth of knowledge he was often sought out for advice and leadership internally as well, and was as such very highly appreciated. Of particular value to the company was his role as mentor for junior staff as well as a trainer and coach when Adacra lifted the capability of all of its people to J2EE or .NET, with a focus on object oriented modeling.

I highly recommend Per and would be very pleased to give a more in-depth personal reference as needed. Please call or email!

Sincerely,

Göran Hagegård
