Letter of recommendation from Microsoft Sweden

Microsoft AB Box 27 SE-164 93 Kista Sweden April 18, 2007 To whom it may concern: It is with great pleasure that I recommend Per Ostman now that he leaves Sweden for new assignments in Australia. Per worked as an ISV Evangelist and Architect for the Microsoft Evangelist Team in Sweden for close to three years 2004-2006. I was Per's manager during his time. When Per started, Microsoft had a terrible scarcity of focus on one of the most important partner groups for the company: the Independent Software Vendors or ISVs. During his time, Per took ownership of the ISV strategy for Microsoft in Sweden, coordinating the evangelist team efforts with the sales forces and the product groups across the whole company. In this role, Per also worked closely with the European head quarters to align the ISV strategy with the European and Company-wide strategy. As part of the strategy, Per held both broad ISV Community Days for the whole ISV developer community, and focused ISV Roundtables with the CTOs of the largest ISVs in Sweden. He also took active part in the Swedish Architect Council and was able to build very strong relationships with top management. Per was the evangelism team's most highly recommended technology and architect expert. He was recognized internally and externally as one of the lead technology spokespersons for Microsoft in the region. Per used his deep architectural, technology and development skills to become a trusted advisor for our most strategic ISVs and won them over to the .NET platform. With his knowledge he changed the course of technology direction in top and challenging ISV accounts that otherwise would have chosen other platforms or technologies. Per generally exceeded his goals and took on many more ISVs to manage than was originally intended, without affecting the quality of his work. Per quickly incorporates new and emerging technology as part of his competence and managed to become the first person in Sweden to achieve the highly prestigious Microsoft Certified Architect certification or MCA, a certification that at the time of this writing only 80 people have achieved world-wide. He was also chosen as one of 20 evangelists world-wide to attend the Evangelism High Potential Program in Redmond. Per is a very strong architect and developer and has a strong sense for leadership, strategy and planning and an ability to earn trust and build strong relationships both internally and externally. He would be a strong senior asset to any organization, and I am happy to give him my wholehearted endorsement. Sincerely,
